Help test software in this retro amateur archive
RetroMelsArchive is a retro amateur archive, and part of the fun is simply trying things out. Some titles load right away, some need another go, and some end in a load error. That is all part of the charm.
In the MZ-800 ABC part of the archive, a “Verify now” button can appear after you click download. That section is simply too large for me to verify by myself, so help from visitors is very welcome.
Titles that do not work will still remain on the page. They can show an X mark so the archive reflects the real state of the software, including the messy bits.
Why join in?
Verifying is a fun way to explore old software while helping the archive at the same time. A successful load is useful, but a failed one is useful too.
- Try software in an emulator or on real hardware
- Help show what works and what does not
- Keep load errors visible instead of hiding them
- Optionally ask for a shoutout when you send in a result
A bit of testing, a bit of curiosity, and sometimes a stubborn load error.
